Start room by room
List the living room, bedrooms, kitchen and other areas in order. Give each large item and box a unique number. Use clear descriptions rather than “miscellaneous”. Keep quantity and dimensions in separate columns.
Add special conditions
Mark dismantlable furniture, fragile pieces and existing damage. Measure externally with packaging in mind. Link photographs to the same item numbers to help quoting and handover.
Maintain the latest version
Update the list when items are added or removed. Confirm the team is using the same version. Check package counts against it at delivery and record discrepancies.
